The China marks (China Compulsory Certificate), also known as the CCC mark, was implemented by the Chinese central authority CNCA (Certification and Accreditation Administration) and AQSIQ in 2002. Since then, it has become the primary certification standard for a wide range of products being imported or sold in China. Products requiring certification are only permitted to be sold on the Chinese market and used in business activities in China, after a CCC certification is obtained and they are properly labeled with a CCC logo (or China mark).

Because of its lack of protein, it is greatly used by vegetarians and by individuals with dietary restrictions who require less or no protein in the diet. Food commonly containing arrowroot as ingredient would be biscuits, pudding, jellies and cakes. It is customary in Korea to add arrowroot powder in beef tea, milk, veal broth and noodles.
